This CCTV video, taken in the psychiatric ward of a Brooklyn hospital on 19 June, has caused outrage in the US. The footage shows a woman collapsed on the floor while staff choose to ignore her. Seriously...that's the most evil thing I've heard in a long time. You can't be that callous, can you? Even though that's far from funny, I really hope you are joking. If not, I think you need to get yourself checked into that mental hospital. Who's responsible for making you this way? Your parents? They should get evaluated as well.

I was really disgusted & angry after seeing this video! How could people just go on with there day walking back & forth as if they don't notice a woman is dieing right in front of them. It doesn't matter what the color of her skin, her financial state or her mental compacity she is a human being! I am so angry how society puts such a low value on life. Every breath we take, every day we live to see is a blessing. There are so many people with no regard for life.

This is just one incident that happens to be recorded on film. Now imagine thing like this happening everyday in NEW YORK CITY that NO one knows about. It happens ALL the time. It will only get some attention because it's caught on film. This is one messed up Country with people preaching how good they are.

I hope this guy lost his job and in actuality he should face manslaughter charges due the fat that he has been placed in a position of care over these people and he failed in his duty, not because of error, but because he chose not to act when he possessed first hand knowledge a person was in need.

Leave the guard out of it for a second. Let's say it went down like this -- he saw her fall down, and asked for help. You think everything is fine when it takes 24 hours waiting in the emergency room, until you are near death, to get medical attention? No one monitoring these people for vitals while they are waiting? Guards are not there to keep vital signs. Nurses and doctors are.

I live in NYC. Not everyone is like that. This hospital is in a really crappy part of town, and isn't a good hospital to begin with. Therefore, the underpaid staff sucks. Also, it's in a psyc ward, so the other patients aren't probably all there either. Crap like this happens all over the country, not just in NYC.

i used to live in new york and i've seen how callous people can be. even after something as tragic as the WTC collapse there were people pretending to be the dead just so they could cash in their social security checks and such. it's just a whole different attitude there than on the west coast.
