Because you wouldn't really ever know if your team would make up the points... and then there's the occasional possiblity where the seeker might be so wrapped in catching the snitch he or she isn't really aware of the score, especially in bad weather... didn't that actually happent to Harry once or twice? It was like raining so badly and he was just trying to focus on looking out for the snitch that he wasn't aware of the points?
