these were the great times of hip hop. so many great albums came out in the 90s. never again there was such a quality in beats and skillz. i don't even think it will ever rise again to that point. it is just a passed time with its music.

Damn.... I think we all just need to be thankful that we happened to come up in the golden era of hip hop. One day we will all be in a rocking chair (lol) preaching to our kids about how hip hop had it's golden era. And they won't be able to fully grasp the feeling we had.

I like the version mixed with George Benson's "Gimme the Night".
I heard it on Power 92.1 FM back in the mid 1990s in the wee hours of the morning while doing security at Beaumont Correctional Center.
That song had a tight beat with George Benson's "Gimme the night".

I agree with your underlying feelings pertaining our current state, but I disagree with your view toward the "hopless lyrics" and lack of "soul".
The song Crazy is about how Cee-Lo realized that it was God, not him, that was in ultimated control of his life. He was "crazy" when he thought that Cee-Lo was in charge, and the effects of him trying to solve his own problems was making him go crazy.

Sounds cool. It's nice when you can reference a song and its inherent mood with a distinctive moment in time. Especially in the 90's when so much was coming at us every year.
For me, I was 14 on an Air Force base in Germany. This was one of the first cd's (after the Street Fighter Soundtrack, Ready to Die, and Funkdafied) that I saved up to buy. Man I felt grrrown.
