Wow! This really works!! I used my normal desk phone as I don't have a cell phone and I didn't have a patch cable so I used hemp rope. But I tried a fruit bowl and it didn't work nearly as well as a salad bowel. Quite incredible.

As I've had past experience in wi-fi network design, I can tell you that this actually is a definite phenomenon. It has, in fact, been bugging wi-fi techies for over ten years now, because it causes signal corruption in certain arrangements. However, if used right, it can boost your reception strength. There is actually a new technology being worked on called 802.11x that is based on this concept.
