i know, there isnt "the best/perfect" cam but pentax could really eliminate these "small" but "important" issues (the conditions are given; pentax have got the "stuff" to do this). shall we contact pentax to do an upgrade, signing a petition as the community or something like that? i dont wanna waste time processing every picture with photoshop or generate actions in it. i think the K10D could it as good as the nikkon D80 after this fu**ing upgrade :D

hi kd5tmu, first of all: nice video! i wanna entry the dslr area and think about to buy the K10D. but after reading the review here: cameralabs dot com/reviews/PentaxK10D/page6.shtml ...im not sure that the K10D is the right choice! the out-of-the-box-pics are not as good as the competitors. i think its a really good camera but PENTAX could eliminate this negative issue with a firmware upgrade (but unfortunately i dont suppose that) :-/

Thanks dude..I agree the Pentax camera's are great right now. You might need to mess with the settings a bit right out of the box but where's the fun if you don't do that?! I was considering the K100d after having a quick demo in a shop and you've got me convinced!

Awhile ago I found an old Ricoh XR-P that my dad used to use. I asked him about it, and he basically gave it to me. The batteries had long since died, but I procrastinated getting some. I finally did get the batteries and I've been taking some pictures, but the bad thing is that I have to get them developed in order to see what they look like. Hopefully I can just get the film scanned and put on a CD or something at a rock-bottom price.

if you bother'd to read the manual its says slowest shutter speed with (SR) is an eighth of a second, NOT 2 seconds like you claimed in your video... (2 stops max) ...No man could hold a SLR camera still with a shutter speed of 2 secs, even with (SR) not unless you used a tripod. Thats why Ive removed my subscription

Do you want me to email you that file with all of the meta-data showing that it was indeed two seconds? I apologize that you think I'm lying, but I did indeed hold the camera steady for two seconds. I can also give you the witness of two people that saw me take that exposure.

you can easily get a decent picture with 2 seconds exposure, i believe him...
You can pick up a k100d for 419 dollars now if you shop carefully online.

Both of those cameras have ridiculously small fields of view through the viewfinder, go with perntax or nikon to get a larger field of view which will help you take better images
