Yay for Jaqui ! The band is too soft-jazzy for me, they need the sting and twang of the original sound.
Thanks for the clip!

I am not digging her hand movements very much.. But it's nice to see her still performing.. Bring back the John Renbourn group!!

Thanks for posting this. I miss the guitar I'm afraid, though I have to say that the drumming is just right. She does seem a little uneasy singing standing up. A bit of the "what do I do with my hands? " problem, but her voice is superb - Hope they tour the UK again soon.

Na! Not even close! Jacqui should have left this alone! THIS IS NOT PENTANGLE, AND IT'S NOT EVEN CLOSE WITHOUT JANSCH & RENBOURNE ON GUITARS, AS A MINIMUM. She can't call this Pentangle, and would be better to sing under the name of Jacqui Mc Shee.

Guud, but I miss the acoustic guitars and Contrabass

This was all jobs for the boys: Thats John Martyns band with a few additions. Great players but not the right vibe for Pentangle.

Pentangle was always Jansch & Renbourn's band. JM was merely the singer.

Despite the group not being as crisp musically as the original, it's good to see Jacqui still have the go..What I wouldn't have given to see her live, back in the day!....

The first time that I even heard of pentangle was at the IoW festival in 1969. They wowed me with a great performance that put Bob Dylan in the shade.

I beg to differ. I always thought that they could have used a singer with more expression in her voice.

Who would you have Preferred?
Jacqui is a pretty hard act to follow my friend: Time, tone, phrasing.....oh and plenty of expression too.

I'm sure that i've written this before (YouTube is hiding my messages) I think Toni Arthur would have been the one. Then of course, there's Sandy Denny. Beg to differ about the expression. Jacqui sings like a choirgirl.

Toni Arthur turned me onto hippy chicks before I was ten years old, god bless her. Could'nt hold a candle to Jacqui vocal wise though.
Was never fussed on Denny, Ann Briggs had already got to me.

I can't assess the range and the power because I saw Toni Arthur in the confines of Blackpool Folk Club wereas Jacqui was always worshipped at a distance and through a powerful PA. Toni did an amazing version of a tale of a mother killing her babes, though, full off guts and feeling.

a matter of opinion, I think Jacqui is awesome...and worked like a charm in the band.

My dear ClaireRogers, you are also entitled to your opinion but please keep to the point and don't throw in any childish comments about my 'amateurishness.' Looking at your site makes me think of a 14yo with far too much opinion for her years. I saw them in their prime - you didn't.

Ms. Rogers: Please think of original insults rather than throwing mine back at me and don't forget: you started the mud slinging.
Oh, and if you check all my comments you will see that they are not haphazard mud-slinging but thoughtful criticisms. I suppose this is what threw you because it's so rare on YT. Peace and Love.xxx
