What exactly are you doing: number 1- when you use the read airbrush to select areas but then when you go to the other eye you don't use it. number 2- when the image goes black and white and then looks gorgeous after in color, like with the lips and another time with the background

I think photoshop (in teen magazines especially...) should be ILLEGAL. It makes humans see the world as an 'illusion'. No one can photoshop themselves in real life! It is giving men the wrong idea about women, and young girls a feeling of utter hopelessness.

1. I believe the red airbrush is the Quick Mask Mode, and when they go to the other eye they are just using the burn or dodge tool depending on what they are adjusting to. At least, that is what I surmise is happening.
2. I think the changing is the use different layers of the photo (one in B&W, etc..) built on top of each other and they are just turning them on and off to look and see what changes in the photo as they go.

Removing that scar was a huge mistake! I think leaving it in and trying to make it work would have added a lot more character: would have fit with the model's rugged beauty.

I myself use Photoshop Cs3. I have been doing pictures professionaly and as a hobby for sometime now. I have to agree with some ppl regarding the over usesage of this software in magazines. Photoshop was not menat in the beginning to be used as we have begun to use it in this day and age. I started out using it to retouch my photos, mainly for , acne, braces,scars,blemishes and birth marks.We only go the direction we are allowed to go...... VERY NICE WORK.
