Yes; another rule should be made that if a pitcher intentionally throws at a hitter, the hitter should be allowed to throw his bat at the pitcher. Baseballs can cripple and kill by being thrown so why not use the bats also. Turnabout is fair play. I have pitched for many years and also batted for many years. I would be scared to throw at a hitter. Domesticated humans shouldn't risk damaging another person intentionally.

I wonder what the ruling was on this... I saw in college that he had a special rule where if he stepped on the mound, he was locked in to that hand for the rest of the at-bat. There've been numerous switch-hitters but this is the first switch-pitcher I've seen. I would make a rule that he gets to switch hands even during an at-bat and that the hitter has to choose one side for his at-bat. Make a rule that "applauds" Venditte for being talented.

Just found out that the Umpires ruled that the Hitter had to first declare what side he was hitting from, then the pitcher was allowed to decare what arm he was pitching with. That's why the batter what ticked.

when he was pitching for creighton in college the rule for him was batters declare which side of the plate they will hit on, and then venditte will choose accordingly, and as soon as he steps on the rubber, he has to stay with that hand.
