I agree whith you..
His movements ... ( 2 months ago by allegroconspirito4)
His movements aren't because he's nervous, he's letting his emotions from the music flow in the form of motion. Many professional musicians do this. And "he forgot to memorize the music"?, he has a stand holding his sheet music right in front of him. He doesn't suck, he plays this piece very beautifully. Please, do not critique on something you are obviously inexperienced with.

1. Movement is in no way of any use.
---only younger players(and Americans) move to keep the audience entertined. What's more, pros move with the dynamics. this guy doesn't.
2. Very nice playing. I liked the tone very much. keep it up! Still, I don't know if the dynamics were clearly expressed.
3. I think that's all I have to say. goodbye!
Tell your comment ... ( 2 months ago by artdecolv)
Tell your comment to Sabine Meyer or Elsa Ludewig-Verdehr. They would dismiss it straight away. Again... another cow/hack MOOing with nothing valid to say.
you people always ... ( 2 months ago by dodddd29383)
you people always say people like me are mooing/hacking without reason.
1. I did not condemn the playing as a whole, but you seem to make me look so.
2. Sabine Meyer does match her moving with her dynamics, so se doesn't go into my criticism. (although I would prefer her moving less)
3. Karl Leister and Andrew Marriner rarely move. So do violin virtuosos like Menuhin and Heifetz, as well as Oistrakh.
4. and surely, moving is of no use except keeping the audience's eyes entertained.
Real musicians try ... ( 2 months ago by dodddd29383)
Real musicians try to accept criticism, not condemn them. What you're doign is committing a logical fallacy of grouping all the "antimoving" musicians as "cows" which is totally ridiculous.
playing has nothing ... ( 2 months ago by dodddd29383)
playing has nothing to do with moving around.
If there was a relationship, how could orchestral players play at all, sitting straight like that?
Then why didn't Menuhin move around when he was playing?
I take it back. ( ... ( 2 months ago by dodddd29383)
I take it back. (about " movement being completely useless)
moving might help you express your dynamics or the "flow of music" better, but should be kept at a minimum. movement not folloing such conditions are indeed useless,
plus, I didn't ridicule DuyTran16 for moving. i just said I thought it was useless, as a advice. Please read the context, idiots.
O.o It doesn't ... ( 1 month ago by Violaelf)
O.o It doesn't matter how the person moves, but how the music comes out. Even if it doesn't seem necessary it probably helps him play. Many musicians do that.
Yes, moving may be ... ( 1 month ago by bawlsmouth)
Yes, moving may be entertaining OR useless, but has anyone thought that it may mildly affect the player's breathing, tone, etc. You may move a certain way and constrict an air pathway or something. That's just something else to think about. Plus, I find it distracting. Very distracting.
But this guy really is talented. =]
sorry, but that kid ... ( 1 month ago by inturtaner)
sorry, but that kid looks fuckin retarded. im all for getting into a peice, but thats just unnessicary. haha, what an ass!
I thought his ... ( 1 month ago by allegroconspirito4)
I thought his playing was very mature.
Ahhhh, the GREAT ... ( 1 month ago by phillipmccrevis)
Ahhhh, the GREAT and POWERFUL sonataopus73 has come down from the mountain to share with us the wisdom of the ages! ALL KNEEL!!
I don't think that ... ( 1 month ago by phillipmccrevis)
I don't think that movement is of no use, expressively, but moving in an artificial repetitive way that has nothing to do with the phrases is VERY DISTRACTING.
Mature? How ... ( 1 month ago by phillipmccrevis)
Mature? How exactly does that go? Yesterday, a loud noise came from my pants. Shocked, I turned around to a smell so foul you know that it hurt. My friend, THAT was mature. That thing had been aging inside of me for days, like a fine gorgonzola cheese.
As you can see ... ( 1 month ago by dodddd29383)
As you can see below, I changed my opinion closer to yours. I am glad that I have someone sharing the same reasonable idea on youtube.
Bawlsmouth! I love ... ( 1 month ago by phillipmccrevis)
Bawlsmouth! I love your name. Every single action that a musician carries out takes brain power. So, say it takes 90% of your working mind to make a phrase. But, it takes a bunch of concentration to make the embouchure, breathe, etc. Any extra thing, such as crazy movements like these, take away from your available resources.
So, I agree with you up to the point where you talk of talent. Maybe you meant to add "relatively" to your statement. Compared to a mud pit he is crazy awesome.
I just watched this ... ( 1 month ago by phillipmccrevis)
I just watched this again and I realized that I was wrong. THIS GUY IS CRAZY AwEsOmE!!!!!!!!!
I decided to give that move he does a name. The swoop. The extra big version he does once in a while will be called the Pooper Swooper.
Great clarinet ... ( 3 weeks ago by woodwind76)
Great clarinet player! He should just play with a much much better orchestra.
Perhaps that move ( ... ( 3 weeks ago by oldjarhead)
Perhaps that move (considering his playing) should be called the "Pooper Dooer!"
THAT will solve ... ( 3 weeks ago by phillipmccrevis)
THAT will solve everything!
Why didn't I think of that?
I think it's too ... ( 3 weeks ago by Clarinetmarmalade)
