Metropolis is a masterpiece. Also, just because Astroboy was an idea about a robot kid doesn't mean it inspired Megaman, actually, if you believe that then you have no idea of the amount of influence technology and robots itself has on the Asian entertainment industry. Astroboy is just a product of that influence, and so is Megaman, both byproducts of the machine.

the first astro boy was created in1963 the first megaman anime wasnt made till 2002 and the first megaman game was made in 1987 so either way astro boy came first. so its more likely that in that 24 year gap between 1963 and1987 megamans creators took inspiration from astro boy
