This is drumming at it's best. The complexicity in this piece is amazing, yet it sounds so simple and eloquant. Not many could match his style and feel.

gmcjetpilot, you are wrong abotu Carter. He does everything else with his right hand. But, he decided to drum open faced lefty to be able to reach the rest of his toms/cymbals with his right hand. I also play both like this and with my right hand dominate. It really helps.

Drumming at it's best is Brian Blade. Carter's sick tho. Better than anyone in rock/pop/hard rock and right up there with other top jazz drummers. If you like Carter, Blade's work will blow your mind. His time and dynamics are unmatched. Not a lot of straight solo's but you will find him on here with Joshua Redman and Patitucci and other of the top jazz artists of today's genre.

Just my opinion, for what it's worth. I find Carter to be the best drummer I've ever heard. He plays technically great, but more importantly he plays drums to compliment the music, and he never messes up (that I've seen, and I've seen them live many times). Carter is a living musical metronome bridging the gap between a drum machine and pure heart with genious grooves!. Jam away Carter JAM AWAY!!
