personally the fruits basket anime in my veiw was hilarious and it did improve alot of stuff from the manga. but it added some stuff that wasnt in the manga and i HATED the way the anime ended. what with tohru sobbing her eyes out... she wouldnt have done that. she didnt even cry as much in the manga. she only threw up! which makes alot more sense. she was not at all afraid of kyo and she shouldnt have need hana to tell her to go back. the manga is better, but the anime is also great

I didn't really like the ending of this show either. This show though was like a ride you never wanted to end. You never knew what was next around the corner. It was quite an experience. Reminds me of Black Lagoon(except that is an action anime). Anyway I think it is better to just not watch the last episode of Fruits Basket. This show was that kind of show that maybe you don't need closure Xd. I dunno. I wish it didn't have closure to it. IT reminded me of when I use to live in Turkey.

Also I think it's also better to understand that the show should never follow the Manga to the letter. I mean I watch the Boondocks, and the comic strips are completely different. Mainly because of the different audiences. Political savvy people read the newspaper. Whilst those who want entertainment watch the show.,

i don't think they stopped it as such, i think it was only meant to be this short (they do it with alot of animes actaully) because if you read the manga they cut out a lot of important things in the anime, like about tohru's first love,which is important for the story later on, along with other things.
still i loved the show, they did a great job on it
