THE BIRDS Trailer hosted by Alfred Hitchcock for his 1963 film classic. Starring Starring Rod Taylor, Jessica Tandy, Suzanne Pleshette, Veronica Cartright and introducing 'Tippi' Hedren as Melanie Daniels. When Melanie Daniels (Hedren) is crossing a lake, she is nipped by a gull. Gradually, incidence of bird damage to humans by pecking increases. Glass windows splinter before diving birds, children are sent home from school to safety, townspeople take refuge in a lunchroom, Miss Daniels in a phone booth, and finally everyone hides in homes tightly boarded up against repeated attacks by the birds. HItch said it himself. They dont! He said this was to show the beginning of a war. He himself said the next scene after they drive off at the end would have shown birds covering the Golden Gate Bridge

no one ever knows. I read the true story the story that made alfred to make the movie only he changed it a lot compared to the story. In the book it said it was the weather changing and the tides from the ocean. But really no one is supposed to know and no one will ever know.

BRILLIANT! Hitchcock is not only the master os suspense but also the master of satire! I saw this trailer right BEFORE I saw the Birds for the first time, and when the film started I was already trembling! If you ever watch The Birds with someone, make SURE you see this trailer immediately beforehand!

i love this trailer! i love it when he says he feel very close to the birds, and developed a sypthay for them, and how they feel (while he is cutting into a turkey) he looks down, and says "i dont think i'll eat this now" hilarious!
