I love this song, but I don't like this version. She didn't do much with it dynamically as many covers have (especially Eva Cassidy who totally KILLED it) and it wasn't very exciting. I didn't catch this "Fever".

hate to break it to ya baby, but SHE DID IT FIRST, AND SHE DID IT BEST, NO-ONE ELSE COMPARES TO HER VERSION!! But we all know that SHE who sings it first sings it BEST!! copys by anyone suck. anyways sorry, she does the BEST VERSION of this song on the ENTIRE PLANET!!!

I know she did it first, but that doesn't mean it was the best. I love this song to death, but she doesn't have a very interesting voice and really doesn't do much with it and her singing doesn't reflect off the emotion of the lyrics well at all. Beyonce and Eva Cassidy REALLY took this to the next level.
When Peggy Lee sings that high "Fever" in the chorus, its so short and empty... when Eva sings it, she just ATTACKS it. SO much more energy and excitement.

YAWN!!! i have listened to a buttload of covers of this song in my life and they SUCK!!! they took and put thier spin on the song which is cool, but like i said ALL COVERS SUCK!!!! The first is always the best and always will be. anyways enjoy the LAMER versions of this song if you want to, I'll listen to the best version right here. : )

To both of u as an outsider: its two complitly different versions of the same song. Peggy does it in a classic calm, but full of tantion SEXY version. U can just c a stripper working the pole to this song. While Eva put more passion into her version. Its more exsited, as in more emotional, while Peggy's version is based on more 'animal attraction'. Like i said, WHICHEVER version makes u tick more. I personaly get goosbumps from Evas , but still Peggys is closer to me ;-)

in expressive arts we did our own version of this- sounded well good 1 half doin the background n ma half singing it, teacher said it was great for 15 mins work! achievement! x

This has been said many times before, but let's say it again: this song became famous thanks to Peggy Lee's smart, seductive, minimalist and jazzy re-interpretation of it. Before Peggy, the song was dead for two years, and was going nowhere. After Peggy's version, literally hundreds of versions have been recorded, many of them using the new lyrics that she wrote -- lyrics which elevated the song from the r&b trifle that it was before.
