Many don't know Jody Watley & Jeffery Daniels were recruited (to create this act called Shalamar)from the line-dancers of SOUL TRAIN music/dance show, either. They were unknowns who stood out because they could DANCE. History shows that Jody W. was also a very good singer too & became a solo megastar(80's). Many of Shalamar's megahits featured Jody W. as the lead vocalist, not Howard;interesting - most of the very best recordings from "Shalamar" are those with Jody W. as lead vocal!

I really liked this song, unfortunately it marked the end of an era, with THE most classic line-up of Shalamar (Howard, Jody, Jeffrey)...others had come before and after, but as far as I'm concerned...The greatest of the greatest are these three right here...period!

They took a Devo approach to this song. This approach reminds me of the song by Jermaine Jackson and DEVO, "Let me tickle your fancy"(Give it a listen and compare).
These songs are still great examples of great R&B, back in the day. Too bad that the stuff today can't sound this good.

Funny I thought I was the only one who picked up on the obvious tension between the group in this video.I remember seeing this video in the New Wave clubs around Seattle and saying to myself;these people hate each other, standing apart, not even looking at each other. Now I know why.

When this song firs hit the airwaves here in New York, I was blown away. I remember saying to myself that this sounds like Howard Hewett on lead vocal but this cant be a new "shalamar" record. Then at the end the DJ. said this is Shalamr with their new West Coast Sound. This record is the most Ambitious thing that they ever did. New Wave Sound!! AWESOME!!

This is rather odd, but, funny......You always would hear an old fav. and recall what you was doing at that time or the place you was at.... The 1st time I heard this was in my Dad's new 83 F-150 on the way home from the dealer when we picked it up. It was a Sat. morning. Dad thought that this song was the stuff. I can remember him trying to blow the door panels off the truck.
