Simply put, IPv6 ... ( 4 weeks ago by noodle32)
Simply put, IPv6 will allow more internet addresses to be distributed to a larger scale of computer networks than a class A, B and C network would currently be able to allow. This would also affect the scale of subnet masks available as this aspect would also need to be expanded as well.
- IPv6 has been addressed as more secure because additional security layers have been additionally designed into the protocol.
- As quantum ... ( 4 weeks ago by noodle32)
- As quantum encryption has been established as a much more secure feature in the transmission of data between computers, IPv6 has been claimed to be able to handle this much more complex security feature more effectively. IPv6 has also been claimed to take advantage of RSA 1024-bit encryption to also allow a much more robust means of security.
- Many hardware and ... ( 4 weeks ago by noodle32)
- Many hardware and software manufacturers have discussed this eventual tranition in order to integrate its compatibility in a way in which backwards compatibility will be possible during the transition, but IPv4 will eventually become unsupported as IPv6 becomes more popular.
- This is a very technical transition because it involves the cooperation of many computer manufacturers in the industry to participate in order to ensure the best rollout plan possible.
- One factor that ... ( 4 weeks ago by noodle32)
- One factor that would be majorly affected by this transition would be addressed by Cisco. They would have to completely change the architecture of their routers because the transition of their routing tables would be affected by this transition.
- Microsoft, Apple, Novell, Linux and Unix would have to enable the protocol to be available in their operating systems to ensure the highest potential compatibility.
