unfortunately bands like this will never be as good as they once were. it's like Metallica, they'll never be as good as they once were, once a band sells out it's almost impossible for them to get back on track. In fact I'd say it IS impossible. Def Leppard's new stuff is OK, but no where near as good as their old stuff.

I think they're just as good as or better than they were. To me, their sound has matured. So they're different than they used to be, big deal. I still love it, and I'm personally glad they're not trying to keep playing music that sounds like it came from the 80s. If they never did anything different, they'd be written off as 80s has beens, but as it is, they continue to do new things and that's one of the reasons I love them so much.

Def Leppard is a fantastic band. I loved their sound in the 80's and although it's entirely different, I love their sound now as well. I definitely miss their sound with Steve Clark. The Hysteria and Pyromania days were Def Leppard's peak for sure, but I'm glad that their sound has matured the way that it has.
