The Last Rainforest Trailer (2008)
Uploaded by: wpaxton
Video Description:
This is based on one of the first stories I ever wrote (so forgive the bad premise). I wrote all 135 words of the story back when everybody cared, or at least pretended to care, about the rainforest. Originally titled "Return of the Thing (from the Core of the Earth)" I decided to update the name to something much shorter and more cinematic. After three or four different junkers I decided to rip off a movie that's going to come out soon that looks like a cross between The Thing and Algore's A Convenient Lie. Building off of The Last Winter I named my movie The Last Rainforest. The whole idea of a monster being unleashed in the jungle seemed pretty exciting when I was a kid, though not much more was in the story than what is seen in the trailer and the part where the good guys win in the end somehow. I have to say this video does try to capture the excitement that was going on in my mind all those years ago, and quite well I might add. Anyway I hope you enjoy, and sorry this intro sounds so self-absorbe
d, what with all the references to "I" and "my."
When the audio doesn't sync up with the video that was intentional; I noticed that phenomena happens a lot in movie trailers and I wanted to mimic it. This only took 49 takes to get the audio just right. If you like I'll upload all the outtakes for my next video.
Thankfully as of 31 July only 3,770 square kilometers of Amazon Rainforest have been cut down, the lowest deforestation rate since the year 2000. Here's hoping we can get that number down even lower by next year. Enjoy.
