To me Macross Plus is the best production out of the Macross franchise. It just blew away when I saw it years ago, and that was in a time when DVD quality wasn't around. The production values are high and while there may be some lame parts, the action scenes are top notch and IMO are the best in Macross history. Even when Macross Zero came out, I still preferred Plus.

I agree but I like more the movie do you remember love? (although it's the macross story in a 2 hour movie), it's a masterpiece from the animation to the music. Anyway macross plus it's just awesome.
PS: the song pulse from the MP soundtrack it's one of the most beatiful songs I've ever heard

Even without the action, the story exploration and character development were top notch. Sure after watching it you might have said "saw that coming" but it was really amazing how they revealed the story. This was all before the M Shambala kind of stuff so it was pretty revolutionary in that regard.
