| Mm is it possible ive been doing this stop instead of the hockey stop all along? Coz the stop I do is exactly how u do the dime stop.. and i thought i was doing the Hockey stop? ... Coz apparently when i do it, i dont slide at all either.. mm it would be cool if you could clear this up for me! (btw ur videos are awesome) |

| You are correct. The Dime Stop is an Xtreme Ice Skating move. Dime Stop comes from the expression: "Stop on a dime". It is a very hard and powerful stop that gets the attention from everyone around you (or onlookers if performing). |

I've only started skating for 7 months and have decided to be a recreational skater, but now that i've seen your videos, i've been training to become an XTREME SKATER like you! hahaha.. (still trying to get the hang of the drunken sailor, i find step 4 very hard.) |

| this stop is much easier if you first learn to do powerfull hockey stops the principle is the same but if you know what it feels like to stop very sharply then youll more easilly be able to force yourself to do this one |

| one question dan before i bother to start learning some of the moves that you have posted ...is it possible to pull off these moves just anything youve posted in T'blade skates or would i need a conventional pair of hockey skates |

| I would not suggest doing a Dime Stop on t-blades. People have told me that they are weak. If you believe this not to be true, than please use your skates at your own discretion. |

| To start, the "Dime Stop" is not a stop that is meant to spray high. It's a stop that is very abrupt ("stopping on a dime"). However, to spray high, you will need to lean further towards the ice, but do not do the Dime Stop. Do a regular stop. Increase your speed too. |

| Thanks for your comments. To be honest, hockey skates aren't made for the sport of Xtreme Ice Skating. They're too soft and are made poorly. Just recently, I ventured into getting custom ice-skates made for the sport. Should be a video of this in October. These new skates are going to be amazing. |

| i definatly will be posting vids of me skating although ill start off basic as i tend to make mistakes when im being videod in most things and i dont expect ice skating to be much different lol. and on a second note we still have a helluva lotta tourists here so the rink is a tad busy for any of the more explosive kind of skating. gotta wait till it cools down before i really try to record anything |
