hey can anyone clarify the gharan he plays in...is it delhi gharana? it looks so but i aint sure!

Maestros like Tari Khan, are familiar with most styles of playing but he primarily plays punjab gharana. If you think about it there are several people wanting to compare Tari and Zakir but their roots are the same. Mian Quadir Baksh taught both Mian Shaukat Hussain Khan and Ustad Allah Rakha, these two ustads were the teachers of Tari and Zakir respectively. So his main focus is definitely Punjab Gharana.

My guru has been teaching me that now players are encouraged to play the respective compositions in the gharana they were developed for eg. khaidas from teentaal are played in delhi gharana. i dont know how expert you are on gharanas, i myself have been doing research, but is pujab somewhat similar to benares but quite different from delhi in terms on the way bhols are played and the general form and fixing of fingers on so on?

I dont know much of the tabla technicalities. But i read in James Kippen's website that Tari Khan's guru (Shaukat Hussain) had strong links to Delhi tradition of playing aswell as Punjab. So you have good ears to spot the Delhi connection.
