No, sorry dude, the Mustang is a shitbox, it's one of their most problematic vehicles. The son of the Santa Monica Ford dealer is a MTB friend of mine. Ford's in general are shitty cars, buy they say that they get more problems, break-downs, returns, and dissatisfied customers with the Mustang than any other car. Read Consumer Reports or any VALID car magazine, the Mustang gets blasted for poor reliability. If Ford was so great, then the owner of the dealer would drive one... he drives a Lexus.

haha, maybe they get so many complaints cause the owners thought they were buying a fast car, and then got stuck with a modern mustang!! but seriously, i bought a mustang 4 years ago and it was fun, but was never exactly what I had expected, and I didnt expect much as it was a V6, then I supercharged it to 291 rwhp and still wasnt as awesome as I had hoped. hopped in and test drove a WRX and traded my mustang that night.

also drove my buddies new GT and my V6 was faster, so ya, WRX all the way. Havent driven a supercharged cobra yet, and im sure theyre awesome, but id still rather have an STI for the AWD and cargo room.

Because it's a 1974 F100... they aren't made like that anymore. Even then, your truck is a very rare case whereas a 50's, 60's, 70's era Toyota with 400K miles is much more common. I'll see at least one Toyota in this category every day, no one sees 30+ year old Fords every day, let alone one with over 300K miles.

actually, you can say that a manufacturer has problems with quality control which goes right to the heart of their engineering and technical abilitys. Japanese companies had this very problem until the late 80s when they developed just about all of the quality controls that are currently used worldwide in production. They started the quality revolution 20 years ago, and american companies are just catching up, so yes, you can say an entire company has quality issues.

Toyota's aren't overrated, far from it. I currently own 42 cars, and I've owned many more, fact is the Toyota Land Cruiser is the best vehicle ever produced by anyone. TLC's have been around for 50 years, they're the most traveled vehicle on earth, they hold the most world records, and they can accomplish feats not possible by other autos. Watch Top Gear's "How to Kill a Toyota." Name another car that can thrash around in the ocean for 5hrs, then after some minor work be driving again in 30min.

Not true, Toyota's pride and joy, the Land Cruiser rolled off the line in 1957 and it's been the best car on the market ever since. More than 98% of all TLC's ever manufactured are still drivable, no other car comes close.
The issue isn't the past, it's right now, Ford is considered one of the worst car companies in operation. They made some beautiful autos in years past, but their recent line is pathetic.
