Fully automatic firearms are legal if you are willing to go though the federal paperwork and pay a 200 dollar transfer tax. But the real obstacle to owning a machine gun is the cost.

Well, the question is: who kills, the gun or the person? Obviously, people kill, not guns. So it does not matter what gun you have. If you're a bad person, you're gonna use it to kill, and if you're a good person, you are only going to resort to guns in the worst of circumstances for self-defense. It's a no-brainer. I hate how people try to ban certain guns because of their lethality, as if taking guns away from harmless people makes them any less harmful.

Gun control is a fallacy. All they're controlling is the people themselves. It does not control crime or criminals at all. In fact, study after study shows that cities and states with concealed carry have lower crime rates. This is obvious because if you have a gun, you're gonna be much more likely to stop someone with a gun who foolishly thinks you're disarmed and just some docile nincompoop.

I like Jim Webb. He has military experience but also knows when we get into stupid and useless wars.
