You are right! Those words are Chinese. You can check the history of Japan. You will understand why there are Chinese words in Japanese words.

errmm, kind of. Please don't underestimate the importance of European folk jazzers like Stephan Grapelli and Django Reinhardt. Django toured The US with Ellington in the 40's had a massive influence on all jazz guitarists from Wes Montgomery to Pat Metheny. I can the influence here. Jazz has always been totally multi-cultaral.

i kno, like i said it was a mix with classical, and when the europeans got over what they thought was the devil's music, they joined the bandwagon and contributed alot. just like rock & roll. i was saying where it originated

Man, forget the categorization game. I say, if you like what's going in your ear, then you like what's going your ear! Call it whatever, but at the end of the day, if you like it, you like it, ya know? Categorizing "jazzy" music can get so touchy. I don't think putting a label on it really matters. Whether or not the music speaks to YOU is what matters :D

I'm not a Japanese. ... ( 1 day ago by HannJY)
I'm not a Japanese..(I'm a Korean he he)
but I can tell you as much as I know.
"真夏" means "midsummer"
"の" is as same usage as "of" in English
"ためいき" means "sigh"
(Japanese has different word order.
English : S-V-O
Korean/Japanese : S-O-V)
It's somewhat awkward translation.."sigh of midsummer"(??)..uh, it's too odd. I'll make free translation. Maybe "Sigh in the midsummer" I think the latter is better..
I hope this may can help you..eh, sorry for my awkward English.
