No. Goku as a SSJ3 was jjust as easily beginning to get his ass kicked by Buutenks (which was only filler in the anime, in the Manga, Goku pussied out even as a SSJ3), who was stronger than Kid Buu, who was weaker than nearly every form of Super Buu. Goku even said that even base Super was more powerful than either he or Vegeta. Gohan's mystic form is the most powerful form in the series that wasn't the result of fusion/absorption. Mystic Gohan would have been able to defeat Kid Buu easily.

Think about it: Super Buu is stronger than Goku SS3, who is a little weaker than Gotenks SS3, who is on par with Super Buu. Now, Gohan is much more powerful than anyone of them, making him much more powerful than Super Buu (SS3++). Gotenks Buu is stronger than Gohan, putting him at around SS3+++. And Gohan Buu is even stronger than that, so SS3+++++. And by then you're talking SS4.

What I am saying is, don't assume that high Super Saiyan levels automatically mean badassery, as there are still different power levels within (Super) Saiyan levels. Regular Teen Gohan could kill Frieza with one blow, while before it took a Super Saiyan to defeat him. Goten and Trunks may have been Super Saiyans, but they were both barely stronger than Teen Gohan normal, and easily knocked out by Vegeta. Vegito was not even a Super Saiyan and he picked around Gohan Buu like it was nothing.
