So why is it so hard to believe that she was into recreational drugs before she met Bobby? They're both city kids and come from families with *ahem* less than upstanding records. I'm not slamming Whitney or Bobby, I think they're both great people. Everyone says they're very nice people most of the time. They just have their vices and failings, they're only human.
To be honest, even though I think Bobby is being trifling by airing their dirty laundry in his tell-all book, I don't think he resents her or holds a grudge against her. I think he even had a point when he claimed she introduced him to crack. She introduced him to it - by driving his crackhead ass in the limo to the street corner where they were selling the high-quality stuff. Before her, being a street kid he was probably smoking low-quality stuff.
I'm sorry, I should have phrased it better. I can see how my comment could come off sounding like I was stereotyping urban kids even though I wasn't trying to. What I meant was that she came from a background with negative influences, like Bobby, and some of those influences did have an effect on her.
Since Whitney is not the type to go into too much detail about her shortcomings, unlike Bobby, of course there are no direct admittances from her of all her drug habits. Most of the information on her early career is from people who knew her personally. Just like most of the rumors about what Bobby was into come mostly from people who knew him and tabloids, not Bobby himself.
I don't care if she is a white girl wanna be or a hood rat because I dont think that I'll have enough time to enjoy my own life if I concentrate on Whitney and Bobby's "problems.
You are so, so right. It's all just fluff. We wont even get out of this alive. Why not just live and let live?
anyways I love whitney. we all fall short and she's standing again! so God bless her and Bobby.
You know what, WE have the ability to bring these two back into the limelight. If we give them all of our support and continue buying their albums and attending their concerts and promoting them by word of mouth, we can help them come back and bring good old R&B back with them and rid us of this modern bubblegum crap.
