what's your setup like? i have this and can't play a single note without having the cpu usage go way up and i get horrible pops and clips. ive set the latency all over the place and still nothing, i dont have the kore audio kontrol interface though

I've got a MacBook Pro (C2D, 2,16GHz) and I've got the same problem. Most of the factory presets aren't really playable (even in eco mode). So I'm programming my own presets.
It seems that it works way better, when you renounce some automatics, especially the (yellow) macros.

You'll notice a HUGE HUGE HUGE difference. Massive is also a cpu hog.

i am having the same problem with the clipping as well. the sounds sound great within massive, but once i start running them through ableton to record, things get choppy. luckily this only happens with the more complex sounds, the rest run fine. awesome synth!

Isn't that just for onboard audio.
If you have Massive you probably have a dedicated sound card like a firewire saphire or better.
If you don't. You should.

To everyone having problems with digital sound processing: don't even try any experiment if you have a 486. You MUST have at least a dual core cpu (wich can be insufficient in certain situations too) and obviously install ASIO drivers. Remember: those synths take everything to be done at CPU level, so you need a smart cpu in your box. A quad is higly recommended.

i have just bought a 3.06 gb core 2 duo, 4gb of ram, 500 gb hard drive with graphics card being a g force 880 all built into an iMac... do you think that is sufficient if i get a sound card with it?

IMHO the Mac's internal soundchips are way better than the ones in PCs. So if you're working with software only, maybe you don't really need an external sound card.
I've got a MacBook Pro and an Acer laptop. The Acer's soundchip with its 5.1 sound option and all that stuff sounds terrible. On my Macs I've never used an external sound card.

do you have to have a midi keyboard controller(like an oxygen 8) with massive or can you use it without it? i just bought a good notebook configured for music and a presonus firebox soundcard, so funds are real low right now. so i'm wondering if i bought just the NI massive software could i begin using it without a keyboard controller for the time being. then in a month or two i'll pick up an oxygen 8.

you can use Massive without midi keyboard.

How many dollars do you have to spend to get a sound monster like Massive as a hardware device?
