As far as the interview goes, I agree, it is very difficult to hear two Russian people speaking English to each other; and yes, their English is not perfect, but you should take into account that she sings in couple of languages and the "opera language" is Italian, not English, besides she lives in Austria....so, again, Germanic (not English!).
For those, obviously unintelligent people with "she is stupid / idiot remarks", let me ask you this question: how many languages do you speak yourself? Let me guess.....one? That would be English? Can you also sing opera in Italian, German, Russian, etc? Let me rephrase, can you sing at all????
"Opera is not popular music, it's a very serious art and to understand and to love this art, you need to learn little bit about this."

Exactly. It's very difficult for a person to express themselves completely, in another language besides their mother tongue. She's doing the best she can. She knows the answer in her head (I think) but formulating it into words of another language requires effort. I know...I'm trying to learn Spanish. The interviewer should be aware of this and not get into indepth questions and answers (o;
