Alive in Athens is in my top 5 all time albums, and thank God that Barlow is recording with IE again (the only voice of Iced Earth as far as I'm concerned) but it doesn't change the fact that everything since Alive in Athens totally sucks nuts. It seems Schaffer ran out of ideas and still refuses to listen to anyone else's input. I'll keep buying their shit with high hopes, but the disappointment is getting expensive.

I have to agree with USDFInc i can see you being upset about the disgrace of both the Owens albums but Horror Show? Not only Dracula, and Wolf. Ghost of Freedom? Jack? The whole album is amazing. Just to clarify you did count Horror Show in with The Glourious Burden and Something this way comes part 1?

I have to disagree. I thought that was musically their best album. Content wise more or less a power metal version of the misfits famous monsters (which is a damn good albums as well) but the range displayed on horror show all the way through from Wolf to Phantom Opera Ghost was mind blowing in my humble opinion.

I'm with you Badkarmabunny. I don't hate it, but I certainly don't have the respect for it that many people seem to.
I agree with Chaospoet that the range on the album was greater than any previous album. But to me, some of the songs missed (Ghost of Freedom for one)
However older albums have built greater momentum, and had more intense moments without missing a beat, to my ear at least.

I think their best is either Something Wicked This Way Comes, or Burnt Offerings. I agree that Horror Show was kind of a let down, though there are some sick tracks on it like Wolf and Dracula. Their worst I think is The Dark Saga, probably cause I'm not a big Spawn fan.

He has a great voice and this is probably my favorite band. Best metal ever!
Just a shame he looks so gay (correcting his hair all the time wtf?!). Music is definantly better than their stage preformance.. Would still see them, no doubt... just a bit too static.
