Are you using any pedals on getting that sound?
And does anyone have some good ideas for a good distortion-pedal, that can make the sound get even MORE gained, from a Randall RH-150 or RH-300 (I'm buying one of these.)
And what would be the best for getting a Deathmetal/Metalcore'ish sound - Randall RH-300 halfstack without pedal, or Randall RH-150 halfstack WITH a distortion-pedal (any ideas?) ? 'Cause I can't afford RH-300 with pedal :P

Umm, you wouldn't need a pedal with this amp at, it has a lot of gain in the first place, and turning the gain knob up to 11 isn't always good. Amps tend to sound REALLY muddy with gain maxed, but if you keep the gain like say around half or so, you can get a really powerful, tight metal sound (good for almost all styles of metal)

a randall 150/300 watt head is usually enough for most in terms of distortion, but if you still want more and want that truely filthy sound then i would reccomend the boss metal zone, as it makes mst half stacks sound like this on clean, check out the reviews on youtube. id also reccomend not buying the pedal untill uve had the amp for a while and are sure it isnt strong enough, because the odds are it is. as for the watt power, it has nothing to do with distortion, both amps will sound thesame

Alright mate. I'm gonna buy the Randall RH150 Halfstack then, and then not buy a pedal to begin with. If I can get the sound you have there by not using anything but the Randall 150 stack, I won't need a pedal at all :)

you can get a huge distortion coming right out from an electro harmonix metal muff... pretty tight good sounding and cheap its got a bost function for soloing and if you want even more gain (wich might be pretty insane for your ears) get an mxr overdrive and that's it

if i wanted to set up a rack like that, would i necessarily have to have a power amp on it since i have a head? I want to just put a sonic maximizer and tuner on a rack and run my head through that.
