I do not think that the author used the word "awesome" as we do now. "Awesome" has now become the same as "cool." However, this song has been around for some time, and I think he meant the original term for awesome. "Awe," first appeared in a 9th c. script. At that time, it meant "immediate and active fear," which was usually inspired by God. Soon, the meaning passed to "dread mingled with veneration." So, when he says "awesome," he means "inspiring awe." Awe in the original sense of the word.

Yes Adam was created from the dust, but if Adam and Eve were the only humans created, the entire human race would have to be inbred.
The bible says that Cain after killing able went off into the wild, where he found a wife. Where did this women come from? The dust, a rib? No she was the decendent of an ape, and in the long run, a single cell organism. Naturally this evolution occured under God's guidiance, and a period of millions of years.

There is a massive amount of evidence pointing towards the fact that the earth was created over a period of billions of years. I'll get back to you on that.
The main point we should be focusing on as christians is not creation, rather we should focus on salvation.
We get caught up in all this creationism vs. evolution babble and lose the main point of Christianty, the fact that christ died for our sins.

Actually, there is 0 for billions of years - 0 - i will refute any science that claims this - and it does matter! evolution and the bible account are total opposites and cannot mix - the whole gospel is undermined if genesis says anything other than what it means - and yes we ought to focus on salvation but how does one grow as a Christian if the foundations are not right - if Genesis aint true and God didnt create why should i believe anything He should say about the gospel?

Radiometric dating is not accurate and has massive asumptions - Your discussing zircon crystals - another evidence for creation - helium escapes from trapped rock at a known rate - (like helium in a ballon as the atoms are so small - in the same way rocks should have no helium in if they are all these years old but they do! - so if ya gonna use an expample dont use zirconium! if you want a teaching on the errors of c14 dating potassium argon dating or whatever let me know - ill do one for you!

Comparing the mass and luminosity of the Sun to the multitudes of other stars, it appears that the solar system is around 5 billion years old. However fossil evidence shows that the first humans appeared around 2 million years ago. Thus if God had created the earth in 6 24hour days the world would have to be 2million YO, which conflicts with the above calculation. Carbon 14 is inaccurate after about 60,000 years, but it still can determine an objects age within a period of several million years.
