Klein is best known for her book from the year 2000, the international bestseller "No Logo: Taking Aim at the Brand Bullies". It was called "A Movement Bible" by the New York Times referring to its incredible impact on the anti-globalization movement.
In this extraordinary interview, Klein discusses the key ideas behind her concept of The Shock Doctrine and its importance as an alternate economic, social and political history of the last thirty years. She describes how the free market ideas of economist Milton Friedman and the Chicago School fostered the impact of shock from the 1970s Pinochet regime in Chile to the Bush administration today.

Tell me where I said the people shouldn't choose their government.

I understand the setting is casual, but your constant affirmations are distracting.
Poverty has fallen from 45% to 13% of population. Chile's economy is expected to be as developed as countries like Spain and Portugal in as little as 10 years. Between 1980 and 2007 Chile's economy grew 6% a year compared to 2% per year of the rest of Latin America. Pinochet was voted out of office in 1988 but the new regime has continued his policies.
Econ.stat.can be misleading n 'cooked' by the gov.just like that.ii may sound like a shocker 2 u but it ain't!

Of course when you compare it to America it is seems poor. By latin American Standards it is not poor. Those statistics I quoted are actually from a Venezuelan Journalist not a government source. My comment compares Chile's economy to the rest of Latin America. I show that Chileans have better economic policies than the Venezuelans and the Cubans because the free market works and Socialism does not.
The interview is even more absurd.
