Here's an excellent video for anyone who went through MCRD San Diego in the 1980s. A comprehensive look at training. Shot at the West Coast recruit depot, the video includes water survival training, gas chamber, qualification with M-16 rifle, drills on the grinder, obstacle course, scenes in the barracks, mess, interviews with DIs and recruits and much, much more.

Hollywood Marines
20 pull ups (dead hangs) NOT TIMED
80 sit ups TIMED (2 minutes)
3 mile run TIMED (18 min for a perfect score)
Do as many push ups as you can. Take that number and do 2 repititions a day. Every week add one push up until you plateau.
Do 3 repititions a day after this.
If you have not ran in a while. Start out walking a mile every day. Then jog 2 miles after a few weeks.Walk 3 miles when you get used to Jogging.Consult w/Doctor.
