A real news analyst, a professional analyst would have investigated this incident at UF and learned that Andrew Meyer had shoved people aside, grabbed the microphone w/o permission and asked questions outside of Q & A and used curse words. Those are 4 violations of the forum and that's why he was removed. He refused to comply with police and told six times to do so before finally being subdued and ONLY THEN was he tased. He deserved to be removed, arrested and yes, tased for his behavior.

In this instance Bill O'Reilly did act professionally and investigated the incident before making his opinion on it. Keith Olbermann didn't.
....err.. He was told 6 times to comply before being tased.
He also issued a letter of apology to the UF and the police from the Florida Alligator and stated the police did nothing wrong.

He was tasered AFTER handcuffs had been placed on his wrists. Plus, there were a half dozen cops there. Tasering him was an over-use of force. We didn't always have tasers and the police were okay.

They had put on ONE HANDCUFF only as he continued to try to flee. He was told to comply SIX TIMES before he was finally tased and he continued to resist arrest. He was only tased once anyway and then dragged off. He was committing trespassing and disturbing the peace according to FL state law.
As for prior stun guns, they were far less safe and caused far more deaths. That's why tasers were introduced and they are nearly entirely safe anyway.... cont...

Andrew Meyers also admitted that the cops did no wrong in a letter of apology that he had issued from the FL Alligator. He admitted that he committed grave wrong-doing. The kid apparently grew up a little from that incident and took personal responsibility. He broke the rules and that's why the police intervened. He then resisted arrest and engaged in trespassing.

Yeah, other methods were used prior to stun guns and tasers. They were far less effective and far less safe. That's why the taser was introduced and implemented. It doesn't rely upon pain to subdue the person unlike prior uses of non-lethal force.
