LIke the Athabaska oil sands for example, or offshore drilling. solar, wind, tidal, and geothermal wont be cheaper in teh short term, but they will in the long term. I spoke to a Geologist studying coral reefs off the coast of Belize. He said, that it's true, studies have shown temperatures rise and fall throughout earths history. What his studies have also shown is that these temperature changes have taken hundreds to thousands of years to occur. I just want to make things clear. Some of you seem to think that co2 level drives temperature. It is actually temperature that drives co2 level. This is because when the sun heats the earth, ocean water gets hotter, and looses it's ability to store dissolved co2. When the ocean cools, it has a greater ability to store dissolved co2. Oxygen and nitrogen do not increase in solubility as much a co2 when ocean temp goes down, so the PPM of co2 is able to increase relative to oxygen or nitrogen.

Let me give u an example, If you put a ice cube in a glass of water, the water would rise and when the ice cube melts the water will stay the same..same thing as the ice capes in the ocean... all the ice caps are doing is a ice cube in a glass of water.
