How did he get this far? Because he is a successful politician, the Thai media is not critical, much of it owned by entrenched power, most Thai people don't reflect on 1973.

The muslims "fell on each other because they were weak from fasting" and not because the military/cops packed too many of them in.
These explanations and his subsequent attacks on the reporter might work in Thailand, but he comes across as a bad liar to me.
