Even when localized, the Tales series still has a strong anime feel to it. Symphonia and Abyss were anime-like, and Vesperia seems the same way. They don't Americanize anything or something crazy like that. XD
Also, the English version is on the original PlayStation, not the PS2.

Nope, there's a Japanese version, too.
YouTube "tales of vesperia japanese opening".
They're basically the same song except one's in Japanese and the other's in English. ^^

did not notice that I was listening to both the English and Japanese version of the song 1 after the other. I did not notice the difference. They both sound the same. It's also be cause the English version was the last one on the list. that's why I assumed it was in English.

There is no original english PS2 version. Tales of Destiny is only available in NA for the Playstation. The Remake and Director's Cut is available for PS2 only in Japan.

I don't know a shred of Japanese, but I bought this game anyway and I'm really enjoying it. :) It's very import friendly and you really should have no problem playing it if you've played previous Tales games. There is one text translation guide online (todrtrans wiki) and while it isn't perfect, most of the game's script and skits are translated. I highly recommend the game. :)

It's still fun in Japanese. ;) I have it and I love it. There's translation guides online to help you. I don't know a shred of Japanese and I understand most of the game.

I don't know about that. I enjoyed the dubbing for Tales of the Abyss and Vesperia. Of course I generally don't care about dub or sub, as long as I understand it.

i mean.. when i still have my psx, i really loved playing this game.. until the game CD stopped working..
