They say that ... ( 1 month ago by mmace91)
They say that neoliberalism is evil, but they don't really propose a better way. Are they Marxists? I mean, we all know how well that philosophy works in practice.

You may not know this, but your "race" is not to some people's liking either. One day they may come after you too!

That's not true. ... ( 1 month ago by ParaTodosTodoEZLN)
That's not true. The Zapatista movement combines elements of Anarchism and a certain brand of left-wing Marxism known as Autonomism, which is significantly different from Soviet Marxism.
They aren't just proposing a solution - they are living it, and they are actively creating it.

Long live the Zapatistas! Long live the EZLN and Subcommandante Marcos!
a better way? they ... ( 1 month ago by itsacorporatething)
a better way? they aren't trying to take over Mexico and impose the big bad communism that you have in mind. they are improving their own lives by taking over the matters for themselves, whereas the foreign multinationals and Mexican elite let them die for profit. so do they propose a better way? yeah, they are implementing it right now.

I have no problem with people being ill-informed about a subject, but please inform yourself before spewing utter shit. neo-liberalism is a fancy word for "corporate globalization", or "screwing the poor of the third world for more money for the rich", so your PC garbage is a little random. I'm curious, what is PC to you? because when i think of PC i think of living my life in line with my political and moral beliefs, like not buying sweatshop clothes, which is in solidarity with the EZLN.

Marxism is not bad..its for the poor..by the poor..its just that cuba has an embargo that doesnt let the country get richer..so..everyone in cuba is poor..not because of fidel castro..its because of this Hipocrit white devil man..not latino not hispanin..MEXICAN

OK, fine. But no one has really told me what exactly their "solution" is. How is it different? I just want to know the facts, don't give me platitudes.

A) Learn English.
B) Marxism isn't by the poor. Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels, the founders of Marxism, were two well-to-do academics who had never worked a day in their lives. By their own standards, they would be considered bourgeoisie. So it's not by the poor. And can you give me one successful example of Marxism? No. In fact, countries like China and Vietnam turned away from Marxism, and when they did, their economies started to boom.
You know what else ... ( 3 weeks ago by Morris1962)
You know what else Che said?... "Fire" to the firing squad, killing those who thought differently in Cuba. As long as the Zapatistas continue to struggle peacefully in the mold of Ghandi or Dr. King, they will have the support of many throughout the world.

er, looks we are on the same page! please re-read my comment. I am against globalisation and political correct fascism. as for PC garbage? Huh? so it's ok for peasants to be nationalistic but not for white Europeans.

I'm not sure i was responding to you. the person i responded to said that the zapatistas were against neoliberalism and thought neoliberalism had something to do with what Americans like to call liberals.

Judging by the quality of your response, sabrina, you're the ignoramus. They do not speak the Spanish language well enough to progress in society--This is part of the larger problem of cultural integration. They will forever be an underclass so long as they do not integrate. Certainly, the government shares in the blame, but it is not solely at fault. And it is I who said that they have socialist friends. It's a fact. Look into it before you challenge something you know nothing about.

apart from every other country in the world apart from the USA, you dozy idiot. Only the USA has a trade embargo with cuba. every other country in the world trades with cuba.

Marxism is not ... ( 4 days ago by T4ANARKI)
Marxism is not governing style. The constitution of the Communist Parties and Communist states was grounded in Marxism; the basic difference between Communism in general and Marxism, is that Communism aims at the realization of a "Communist society", while Marxism is a theoretical-practical framework based on the analysis of "the conflicts between the powerful and the subjugated(See wikipedia). Thus, it was state communism that failed not Marxism.
The communist ... ( 4 days ago by T4ANARKI)
The communist states failed because they disregarded the people, the ones they trusted when they want it to take over the government. The figures and numbers might indicate a economic stability in China and Vietnam but this is only because of extreme exploitation of working class while a bunch of hypocrites enter to billionaires club by slaving millions of people. Today kids are dying in those countries because families can not provide them the essential nutrions they need.
Exactly. That's ... ( 4 days ago by mmace91)
Exactly. That's because there really isn't any such thing as a true "people's" government. Democracy and republicanism are the next best things. Marxism calls for a "dictatorship of the proletariat". That doesn't work. That just replaces old tyrants with new ones. As both political and economic concepts, Marxism and Communism fail. End of story.
I understand where ... ( 4 days ago by T4ANARKI)
I understand where you are coming from and the perspective you are looking from. I personally believe anarco-syndicel through autonomy will be a very good answer to today's social injustice. I believe that is the closest definition to a true democracy. It perfectly worked whereever it was tried but demolished by big governments as it is opposed to their megaloidea of controlling the masses(See Post Spanish civil war) and now South Mexico with indigenous population.
By the way, I am an ... ( 4 days ago by T4ANARKI)
By the way, I am an true hard Abraham Lincolnist Republican who is disgusted from todays popularised republican agenda. I can only wish the republican party go back to basics. But Neo liberalism blinded everybody.
