Sweeney Todd: The Worst Pies in London-- 3 versions combined

Video Description:
A mashup of sorts of the three iconic Mrs. Lovetts singing "The Worst Pies in London".
Features clips from the 2007 movie (starring Helena Bonham-Carter and Johnny Depp), the 1982 tour (starring Angela Lansbury and George Hearn) and the 2001 concert (starring Patti LuPone and George Hearn). I tried to make them mesh as well as I could, but there are still a few awkward parts.
Personally, though I think all the performances are strong in their own way, I'm going to have to go with Lansbury. LuPone is too over-the-top here (though she toned it down nicely for the revival), and while Bonham-Carter's performance fit with the understated tone of the movie, she comes off as a little lifeless next to the big, theatrical nature of the other two (and their big, theatrical voices-- "limited wind" indeed).

Eeeeeewe OMG there's not competition at all between Helena and the others. Her voice is so good, but they others! Ugh it sounds horrible to my ear! :P lol. I prefer Helena Bonham Carter over any of the others. Thank God they made the movie w/ her in it :P

Wow it's really obvious here how weak Helena's voice is. It's too bad because she's probably the best actor of the three. Don't get me wrong, she hits all the notes, but it's this sweet little voice, whereas the other two have the power behind their voice that you really need for Mrs. Lovett. I don't even like Patti Lupone, but at least she's a professional.

Well, you have to be fair. The other two sing on stage so they have to sing a lot louder. The opera-like performances of Patti and Angela are very professional, but they would sound really weird on screen. Helena is allowed to sing in a more "normal" voice that almost sounds like as if she was just singing to herself in real life.

Well, Mrs Lovett *is* white trash. And it was rather Burton and the costume designer who added elegance to it; the designer by making the clothes, and Burton by casting Helena :)
And technically her voice is inferior, but it fits better in this context.

People are going to hate me for saying this, but I think that Helena doens't fit quite in with Angela and Patti, because her voice is so much softer than the others. But that's what i like about this particular video, three different voices singing the same song, giving it something a more interesting listen.

I love all three. Helena is the most contrasting, but like i said about JD she wouldn't be good live, and Lupone and lansbury wouldn't suit the film and are great live. I think everyone suited what they got. I think Helena is my favourite, because i like the way her charactor isn't as humerous and motherly and the others, but I do adore them all and all three make me laugh! I love this video - best of all three worlds!!

Me too, I saw the movie first. I expect if i had seen the musical first i would think helena had butchered (haha) it. However, now I've adapted and like all three very very much, but i like helena best overall.

NAIVE?!?!? Have you seen the whole show with Lansbury? She is the most devilish and the most layered Lovett to date! Absolutely brilliantly acted! No one tops Lansbury, especially not Helena Bonham Carter.
