Visualization of Einstein's special relativity

Uploaded by: udiprod
Video Description:
This video demonstrates the effects of Einstein's special relativity on objects that move at high velocities. More particularly, it visualizes the Lorentz transformation.
The video shows a 3-dimensional view containing 2 dimensions of space and one dimension of time. This view is used to demonstrate the difference between classical physics and Einstein's relativity, and why the latter was necessary to understand experimental results.

If you refer to the scene at 2:18 then it just seems so since the right photon is barely visible when shot. The cart follows the time-space diagram where it is clear the gun is shooting both photons at the same time.

Very well done. I feel closer to understanding Einstein's special relativity. fascinating. When the speed of light remains constant, time must. It is hard to imagine without these visualizations as we are biased to the only vantage point we know.
Thank you so much.

I think it's an excellent visualization. I just used it on my blog, article about the 100th anniversary of Minkowski spacetime. I am afraid that those who say that it's confusing on this video will always find relativity confusing.

cheers you might not know it but I'm tired of been aggressively criticised for having an open mind and thinking along the lines of realitivity from einsteins point of view. Realitivity all in all makes perfect sense when you place all the pieces of the puzzle together. Time, light travel and appearance to the human eye from a distance and gravity. It all adds up. Sorry if I miss-spelled anything. I am pretty drunk at the moment =P Old habits die hard xP

Nice video. I am a creationist, but I believe that there are enormous mysteries scientists have not uncovered, that hide within the universe. String theory or M-theory for example. I wish I could get a full grasp on Mr. Einsteins theory. I have watched a few videos and such, and I still feel I have a very elementary understanding of it. Although I am a Christian, I do not believe that science and the Bible disagree for the majority. In a few things, I must disagree with science.
