I continue to disagree with the idea, i mean celebrating the death of people in a war is just sick, also they were both dictatorial regimes and both lost (the Nazis during WWII and the Soviet Union during the cold war) so i really don´t know what they celebrate now that the USSR is no more, furthermore if that would be the idea why do Germany don´t celebrate the victory over France for example? (just fucking imagine!)

Are you actually aware that every ex-soviet citizen has at least one relative that died in that war? That this war in the East was one of genocide which was repulsed by the will of the soviet people? The USSR was instrumental in beating back the Nazis and critical in the Allied Victory. It is great to see Russia celebrating national pride and remembering this achievement again.
