i dont know bout that man, styles make fights, williams and cotto have very little in common, just because williams cud (narrowly) beat tony,doesnt mean cotto could replicate that performance

I'm going to tell you guys who Miguel Cotto reminds me of. A better skilled Arturo Gatti.
A definite power puncher but lacks defensive & evasive skills. Relies a lot on his power & can't substitute that power to rely on ring generalship. Say what you will but a fight with him & PBF would be similar to when Floyd fought Gatti. Cotto is too easy to hit & too quick to get hurt, if he can't pressure or back you down with his power then he will lose, Example (Margarito)He had no other answer to win.

I do not think that is why he loss to Margarito. I think he loss because he left his element of fighting. Instead of just going straight up and attacking like he normally does he was trying to bounce around a lot and be on the defense (still throwing some good punches hear and there) until the latter rounds. But by then Cotto was too tired from all the moving around and Margarito was just taking advantage of Cotto's fatigue. Plus Margarito is what they call a sponge he can take a lot of hits.

I have to disagree. Defense is what he needs more of. Margarito is just stronger than Cotto. If you look at all of his past fights, you would know why Cotto wouldnt remain undefeated. He takes too many punches when he fights to have a career as an undefeated fighter. Again look at gatti. WAS a great fighter but he neglected defense and took too much punishment in his career. Floyd would eat him alive.

He was a good fighter, early in his career. Now he is damaged goods. He was just never a defensive fighterm which contributed to his down fall. Look at De La Hoya, again WAS a good fighter, but now he is old. Age catches everybody.

Cotto is a great champion,but i hear a few fans of Cotto making excuses why Cotto lost. Listen Cotto gave it everything he had and also there's a reason why cotto didn't hit Margarito in the body. Cotto knew if he went to the body,Margarito would've figure his plan and hit Cotto real hard with his left or right hook. Margarito is very dangerous if you get close to him and thats why Cotto didn't get him in the ropes.

I respect Cotto for fighting that monster Margarito and being brave enough to go up against him. If Cotto haves a rematch with Margarito i'm sorry,but his braverly won't save Cotto from a beat down even worst going straight to a huge demise of destruction. Cotto never went toe to toe with Margarito he was on the move and every time Margarito got close he threw punches that connected. Maybe if he would have took the fight to him & boxed around Margarito & confused him a bit instead of back away & give him time to jog towards him perhaps Cotto could have pulled it off. He should have studied Margarito more & came up with a solid plan to get to his body. Freddie Roach said the same thing. Cotto had no readjustments to the pressure of Margarito, FACT.

You guys make me laugh thinking Miguel Cotto had Floyd Mayweather Jr on the run! Ha ha!! PBF told Arum to line up Miguel Cotto @ 140 & Arum said NO! He's not ready for PBF yet. Why did you think Hatton/Cotto was at the Gatti fight for? Because they were considering fighting him & was silenced until Hatton KO'd Castillo thinking he would do the same to PBF because Floyd didn't so he called him out & got TKO'd!! Cotto has never called PBF out when it's on TV that PBF told Cotto "COME TALK TO ME".
