| due to the extremely good torque characteristics of the car, only two gears are needed, even to maintain peak acceleration, because the power band of the engine is so wide. peak torque from 0-6000 RPM and a 13000RPM redline... need I say more? |

| if you're talking to me, then yes. the reason the torque curve / power band is so wide is because of the characteristics of an electric motor. they have near-instant torque and energy efficiency over 80% (as compared to IC engines with ~30% or less). they are simply superior motors. the problem now with them is the power source, not the motor... but battery technology is catching up to where soon a battery will be a better source of energy then a tank of gas. and no emissions either. |

| Actually, I was reffering to Hawkermustang. You (thankfully) are one of the few people who actually knows what an electric motor means. However, to reply to you comment, an EV would produce emissions (but only currently due to our energy producing methods), just severly reduced ones. A little tid bit many people find interesting is it takes more energy to produce gasoline than the gasoline produces. Pretty dirty, huh? |

| the only reason we don't have self charging electric cars is because nobody will make any money from selling u fuel to run it. battery tech is just a scam. off the shelf parts can be used to build a self-charging car. no plugging in no expensive batteries. |
