this is from trey's solo stuff i think,
i've never heard a recording of stash thats sounded anything like this.
and the song was written like 14 years before this video. (recorded on my birthday last year...haha)

its good to hear trey nail all the parts of this song. For a while there post-hiatus he was getting really sloppy. i've seen him solo 3 times and it sounds like he's always getting a little bit better

Trey is definitely one of the best guitarists out there...listen to him during the '93-'95 phish tours...classic.

tfctc...You're right, he shouldn't be compared to Clapton, as Clapton shouldn't be compared to Hendrix, as Hendrix shouldn't be compared to Stevie Ray Vaughan, etc...you can't really compare guitarists of that stature, as they are all uniquely gifted in their own style, that's what makes a great guitarist, that signature sound that makes them unique.

Listen to Phish - you cant be serious harry hood that you never heard of this guy ??? Look for more here to see if you like him fer sure ...... there is a whole school of phish that phollow this guy, maybe you should think of touring with him ..... mightbe some good inspiration. I agree again, I thought 1996 was below average it seems like they went away from jams and played more songs on setlists. Greatest show i ever saw was in Ann Arbor Nov. 1994 you can actually see part of that show on you tube.

Don't worry man, although his solo band is OK, Phish is really where you want to look. Since '88 they've been one of the most innovative jam bands in history.

I'm a fan of story of the ghost, but their live music is where people should listen. Dayton 97, a show just released in Live Phish, is probably my favorite show.
