you're not making much sense here. i said that direct impingement system is more accurate under FULL AUTO and BURST, not necessarily in semi-auto.

M4 fires just fine after being submerged under water. it just has to be drained a few seconds longer than a piston system carbine. notice the part when HK employee drains the HK416 a second or so longer than the M4. HK416 is a great gun, but this is an ad for HK416. do you believe absolutely everything you see on adverts?

"more accurate under FULL AUTO and BURST, not necessarily in semi-auto."
then why have nearly all MG gas-piston system?
the full auto or burst mode is for emergency. if the enemy is too close, and you cant aim. so, this is irrelevant.

comparing machine ... ( 2 days ago by bluemonolith88)
comparing machine guns to assualt rifles is like comparing apples to oranges. and do you really think better accuracy in full auto and burst is irrelevant in a carbine mainly designed for CQB work? you know, most rounds are fired as rapid suppression rounds during a CQB where riflemen might make most difference. one big reason why 7.62 was phased out of the world's militaries is because it's so difficult to control under full-auto and burst. you're not making much sense here.

MUHAHAHAHA!!!!! BULLSHIT!!!
then why develop the russians the 9x39 mm?! it has bigger power than the 7,62x39 mm.
look it up. ... ( 2 days ago by bluemonolith88)
look it up. 5.45x39mm is Russia's main assault rifle cartridge. of course 7.62 is still in use in other roles - such as DMR round or heavy gunner's round. but it has been phased out as the most widely used riflemen's round in favor of rounds around 5.56 as they are generally considered the largest rounds that are capable of retaining some accuracy under full-auto or burst. try firng 5.56 and 7.62 in full-auto or burst yourself, and you'll see what i mean.

we are talking about a typical rifleman's round, NOT some specialty round, which is the case of 9x39 mm. russians are not replacing their main round of 5.43 anytime soon with anything bigger, certainly not 9x39.
agreed, the fully ... ( 2 days ago by cheezmeister95)
agreed, the fully automatic option is when there are several people and your only choice is to spray. If you are engaged, then the practical option is to stay with semi because you want to save ammunition. I was talking to a marine the other day, and he told me all about combat.

Are you saying that only colt produces the AR15?
"we are talking ... ( 2 days ago by dzsiimeen)
"we are talking about a typical rifleman's round, NOT some specialty round, which is the case of 9x39 mm."
it's not a speciality round. just the russians observate that the small cal. ammo isn't proper. that's why the new russian assault rifles fires the 7,62x39 or the 9x39. you can fuck the accuracy if it can't penetrate the enemys cover.
oh, dude, you're ... ( 2 days ago by bluemonolith88)
oh, dude, you're arguing against fact here. AK-74 IS the main rifle of Russian military and it uses 5.45. That makes 9x39 a speciality round or a support round, depending how one chooses to describe it.
pretty much all major militaries, maybe ALL, in the world's MAIN rifle cartridges are around 5.56 including Russia and China. and no one is considering a change to a larger caliber. also note that Russia and China went from larger calibers to smaller calibers at great expense in the 70s.

The Ar wasn't allowed to drain for the 7 second max. I have done this to an Ar and if you drain the barrel the weapon fires fine.

To be blunt you don't need to let it drain, one smooth shake of the weapon to remove the water from the barrel is enough.
