Taxi Driver

Uploaded by: tohtiengchiah
Video Description:
Disturbing scene from the cult movie of the 70s - Taxi Driver. I believe Robert De Niro produces his best work in this movie. The featured clip shows the character played by Robert De Niro, Travis talking on the phone with a girl friend whom the knew recently and which he brought to see a soft porn movie. Disgusted the girl left him and Travis tries to apologise to her on the phone. The conversation is too painful to hear (although we hear only Travis's voice in this scene), and the camera pan midway to the empty hall, signifying that conversation is painful and only from 1 voice only.

The scene that came ... ( 10 months ago by SilverestFuel)
The scene that came after this punctuates the desperation and his isolation even more as the camera skimmed through his room and we see the wilting flowers he supposedly sent Betsy but got returned and he was narrating in the background about how bad he feels and that he thinks he has stomach cancer and then it ends with the most memorable line of that particular scene, "you're only as healthy as you feel".

its interesting to me how the camera pans away from DeNiro in this scene which shows how painful the rejection was, and yet zooms in and goes into slow motion when he murders multiple people, really shows the point of the film

The hate developes more after this scene. His impulses become more strange. A sort of hysteria expressed the only way Travis Bickle could. I think he tried to kill Palatine because he symbolized alot of things like his woman, and how travis would try to masquerade with society

this scene has an embarassing power, that's why we have to pan away, because it's too hard to watch, let alone listen to travis' continued attempts.
