Then testing done on both cars by independant sources is inaccurate. Did you do a before and after dyno? Seat of the pants doesn't count, especially at higher speeds. Trust me.

the new m3 isnt a straight 6 this time but a v8 based off of the e60 m5 basically to less cylinders and a little different angle. they have a dinan stroker kit for the e60 m5 cant wait to see the dinan stroker m3 520hp

True, the S1 tune does a little help, but barely noticeable. The most noticeable mod you can add to an E39 540i and/or M5 is a supercharger. Most little mods give a placebo effect. It just depends on how much mods you add.

the isf will never have that "coolest fucking sedan ever" status the m5 has. every amg vs m review i've read always seems to put the merc in second, and refers to the beamer as a surgical instrument or something like that.

The M3 should have pulled at least some on the m5. The new M3 has a sort of built in break in period where it limits the rpm and throttle for you. Brand new an M3 will get beaten by a 135i but after a couple thousand miles its not even a close race
