MGMT performing "Kids" as the encore song at The Echoplex in L.A. on 1/26/08 half way through the song the lead singer jumped onto the railing almost knocking the camera out of my hands. He used the top of my head to stabilize himself for a bit. The guys decided to sing the song by them selves for being in L.A.

the whole concept of an "indie lable" is so ridiculous. indie is supposed to be bands gaining some sort of recognition of thier work on thier own, independantly. that means recording on thier own, booking thier own shows. MGMT isn't indie, if it were up them they would be in the studio right now, but the record company has booked shows for them until next year.
it used to be (in regular context) that if a band was indie, they were truly independant
now when me and my friends say something is indie, its usualy just describing a type of music or style that could, in the true sense, not be indie at all, but rather sound it
indie labels are in my opinion promote the sound and are not nessisarily good or bad
in an interview they said they didnt want to be considered indie, they said rolling stones werent an indie band. and they wanted a castle and you couldnt get a castle being an indie band.
who cares if theyre indie or not theyre fkn awesome!!!!

also: what's with not actually performing the song? i mean, it would be ok if they didn't pretend to be using their guitars.
