Those who claim that the passage in Leviticus 21 means that God hates the physically imperfect, then you are mistaken. Read the context carefully. "Speak unto Aaron, saying, Whosoever he be of THY seed in their generations that hath any blemish, let him not approach to offer the bread of his God" Lev. 21:17. the emphasis is placed on thy because all the priests of the old covenant were of Aaron, or more generally the tribe of Levi. The handicapped could serve God, just not as priests.

The physically imperfect were not to serve as priests in the old covenant for the sake of symbolism. Jesus Christ, the great High Priest, had no imperfection. Therefore, those who represented Him in the sacrificial system were to be the same physically to represent Christ's purity. Remember, double-check the context from another source before you believe someone. A lot of people on here excluded "thy seed." Speaking of Aaron's lineage: priests.

So what is it you believe? That the whole universe somehow happened to create itself? That the creation of existence just happened on accident. That something came from nothing. Those are the ideas these political nuts are feeding you. That's how they control you. The reason they look down on Christianity is because it takes away their control. They don't want to follow anything that conflicts with their greed. They don't care for you, but God does.

Yes in fact, that is what I believe. The big bang theory or any other scientific theory. They all make a little bit of sense. Now I have to admit the Bible makes for a great fairytale, but not something to live by.I would also like to tell you that you have some things backwards.These political nuts you talk about are the same nuts that came up with your religion.I don't get my ideas from political people anyway.Politicians and religious nuts work together to take away freedom through religion.

All of that based on assumption. I don't follow what anyone says unless I truly believe it. I didn't become a Christian through political brainwashing. Also how could you think Religion and Political work together? The government schools openly act against Christianity, while past has shown huge gaps between the church and state. Why would the government give us ideas that appose their's? To follow what God tells us instead of the Government? I'm just a kid, but I know what I'm talking about.

I realize I still have much to learn, but I know the way to go. It is something I can't describe. This deep feeling that guides me. No manner of attack will stop me. My faith cannot be defeated. Seeing as they have no connection with a God that goes as far as the Norse, Egyptian (trust me it's in there), Jewish, etc. There are many well known religions that all seem to have a connection to a God that sounds just like the Christian God. I could give you a few examples if your willing to listen.

Leads me to believe that you aren't sure of your own belief, and that you need to fight to raise your self esteem or something. Wartmc and Waymuchbetter. I am not trying to argue for arguement's sake, so please do not misinterpret. But just like you assume that we argue to convince ourselves that God does exist, it sounds to me that you are arguing because you can't prove your own logic and you want the confirmation of others, whether it be through defeated argument or willful agreement. I hate to burst your bubble, but God does indeed exist and as much as you may laugh or scoff at me for saying it, he loves you.

And of course we are not the virtuous people that some may try to make you believe, but that is the entire POINT of Christ. That is why God's love is so amazing, because he IS so holy and we ARE so disgustingly corrupt. Without the sacrifice of Christ, God would not even be able to look at us, much less love us. I suggest you look into Christianity and really do some unbiased (neither for nor against, mind you) research before you make your points so decidedly.

Christianity would never be looked at as hypocrisy if people stopped looking at man and looked at God, He alone is perfect, even the most well respected of preachers are going to fail and critics will be there to jump on them, but God never fails, He is holier than thou and me and everyone else, seek Him for a change and anyone else who tells you they're perfect is a liar.
