i agree you can't get return to the spirit of an age gone, but not because the world is coming to an end, it's only changing. not necessarily getting worse, just different. Maybe worse in some senses, but most likely only temporarily.

Yes, the spirit of an age won't ever come back. People change because of all the latest societal changes. That's one of the reasons it's dumb to try to make a movie about another time when the focus is on why they did whatever the story's about. We can't understand their time and mentality...
